The round base that is up against the roof needs to turn counter clockwise about a third of a rotation then it will drop out.
Put screwdriver in slot then pull visor toward you using visor to rotate entire bracket including screwdriver a quarter turn ., will pop right out , the visor bar gives you the leverage to rotate it with out breaking it .

I've ran into the same problem. I'm currently replacing the entire sunroof assembly, the sun visors is what preventing me from completing my task. When you mentioned the round base, are you referring to the triangle shaped piece?
