Whenever I turn the car on, the parking brake light goes on and stays on and as I accelerate from a stand still the warning bell goes on and stays on until I shut off the ignition. When it first started, if you tapped the brakes the light and bell would stop but now the only way to turn it off is to turn off the engine completely. The parking brake appears to be off when I drive. Could it be just an old wire possibly or is the parking brake itself malfunctioning?
