I have a 1991 Olds 88. About a month ago it started right up in the morning then went to start it 9 hours later it cranked wouldn't start. Next morning started right up. Took to the mechanic he had it for a week it started everytime for him. Then yesterday Started same thing wouldn't start hours later but still wouldn't start today. Mechanic came to the house hooked up Checked for fuel it read 45 he hooked up for spark test. First it cranked and cranked no spark. He looked at a few thing then cranked it little flicker of the tester. I then got in so he could watch the tester and it turned over. He said he heard little hesitation after it started so says it's losing some spark. I looked up crank shaft sensor and ignition module. Neither had the same symptons of my car. No stalling but sometimes dying when trying to take off. He is looking into it but does anyone have any ideas...Please. Just tried to start it back to cranking but not starting. Forgot service engine light was on they said it was cam sensor replaced it light still was on mechanic said probably the magnet said in this car it wouldn't cause it not to run. This was 6 months ago. It has been starting and running since until about month ago. Can that cause it finally not to start.
