Engine Performance problem
1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 120000 miles
I purchased a week of mitchell1 for my car because the ses light is on. i dont know how to get the codes and thought the repair guide would walk me through it but it doesnt. how complex is the procedure to get the codes or diagnose the service needed and can someone tell me how.

Hello,
Using a jumper wire jump a to b terminal in diagram below. The engine light will flash codes. Make sure the key is on but not running before you jump the terminals.
Reading codes -
Flash short pause flash, flash = 12
there will be a little longer pause between codes.
