I have a 95 Oldsmoblie Cutass Supreame. I started to have a overheating problem. So I changed out the thermostat started it up and it still would get hot. So I changed out the Water pump Started it up and it still gets hot. The temp gauge inside goes up to the red then all of a sudden goes down to the mid and then back up it seems like it goes back and forth. Even when you just let it sit and idel it still reaches the red. The radiator was change to a new one last year. My question is what else could be the problem to make it overheat.

if the temp gauge is going up and down like that most likely your engine is not actualy overheating but instead the gauge is reading inaccurate which would be caused by a faulty engine coolant temp. sensor
