hey guys my car we rebuilded it over the last five years.We have finally finished but it wont start.The battery alternater and starter are brand new just got them yesterday.I have a 85 buick steering column in it because you cant find the oldsmobile steering coulmns no more.I was wondering does all the transmission wires need to be hooked up for it to start.the only other thing is where it is a different steering column will it not start then because the 85 had overdrive and the 88 olds doesnt

Are you saying, it cranks good but won't start? Or it won't even crank? If it won't even crank, I can help you track the starter circuit. If it cranks good but won't start, visually check for spark with engine cranking. If you have spark everywhere, check for injector pulse and fuel pressure.
