car starts up great after it sits for a day, when using the car all day, it is hard to start and then I smell gas

if you have not had a tune up done (plugs, wires,fuel system flush ect.) then that is where I would start if you had I would have your alternator and battery checked and you can run by an AutoZone they will do that for free also make sure you have a clean air filter. If there is no error code the tune up should fix the issue.
