Electrical problem
1984 Oldsmobile Bravada V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic

Older high mileage but very dependable until this evening. Had a pin hole in radiator, added stop leak, cranked the engine once to make sure there was no air in radiator or hoses. Put cap on, got in hit starter. Nothing. All accessories work, lights, dash lights, heater fan, everything but no crank. I can hear a very faint click if listening with hood up and I turn key. I have checked every fuse I can find with all looking fine. THere are no obviously bad fusible links. I am at a loss and I need the vehicle in the worst way

I went back and checked for all possible under dash fuses and found an Alpine Mobile Security 8030B. Could my bumping the starter ahve somehow triggered this thing. I have no idea how to reset it, although it looks like it hooked into the system between two block connectors.

Plastic housing on solenoid was broken but not visible until I checked connections. Pushed into place it will activate with loud click and in doing so push itself out without hitting the flywheel.

Off to the parts store I go.
