is the water pump on the rear of the engine above the transmission? Are there any other parts that need replaced when changing the water pump?

the water pump is driven by a small belt at the back of the front cylinder head. the pump needs to be removed with a special socket. the pump has tabs on it that lock into the housing & i think its reverse thread / turn right to remove the pump instead of left
