How do you reset the check engine light on a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero, after installing a new fuel tank pressure sensor? See my check engine light came on so i took it to autozone and they put it on the machine, the machine read out was "fuel tank pressure sensor". We replaced the sensor but the check engine light is still on. Also with the check engine light still being on would the autozone read out say the same thing now that the sensor has been replaced? As well as would this effect my emissions read out with the light still on?

Have it rescanned might be a different code that's popping the CEL instead of the pressure sensor-

I did have it recoded today and the same code came up. I will try disconnecting the neg. cable for 10 mins to see if it will reset itself.
