2001 Oldsmobile Alero random cylinder misfire code

What could cause this to happen? random cylinder misfire? where is the ignition coil housing on this vehicle?

We have a 2001 with 80,000 it was missing but not throwing a code. I changed plugs, didn't help. I then changed the coil housing and plug boots. These are located under the curved AL piece that covers the valley between the two overhead cams. I hope this helps some. This fixed our miss fires.
