2001 Oldsmobile Alero Engine stalls when accelerating at lo

My car doesn't have a problem starting or even idling while in park. When I put it in gear and start to accelerate it either hesitates and wants to stall or it stalls. It also occurs when I'm driving and press on the accelerator and will stall if at low speeds. Any help is greatly appreciated.
