2001 Oldsmobile Alero Clicking noise in dash from Hazard Sw

I have a 2001 Alero with a clicking noise from the hazard switch. The directionals and hazards work properly, but when they are not on I get a fast clicking noise from the hazard switch constantly. I replaced the switch, but the noise continues. Could it be a bad brand new switch? bad directional signal switch?

Any thoughts.

it very well could be, there was a campain at the dealers to replace that switch. I know even they had a batch of bad ones. I would check into a different switch

Its not the Hazard switch, the hazard switch is just responding to the bad inputs from the multifunction switch.

Lizreed,

Thanks to your own re-post I also cleaned the contacts of the turn switch in the mulit-function swicth on my 2002 alero and the clicking sound went away!!!!

Thanks!!!
