2001 Oldsmobile Alero Repair Question

2001 Oldsmobile Alero Car making noises
When I am driving and especially when I turn a corner my car makes a high pitched whistle like sound. When I put on the brakes it stops. I originally thought it may be the brakes but it didn't sound like metal on metal so then I wasn't sure.

Check the brakes, they come with a metal tang riveted onto the pad web it's job is to annoy you until you fix them!
