my car was over heating so I changed the thermastat now I noticed a crack in the reservoir tank can that cause ny car to over heat still

It'll cause it to overheat-it'll be losing coolant all the time -when the engine cools down the coolant will go back to the reservoir and leak out till the radiator drys up and then it will start overheating-fix the leak
