1996 Oldsmobile 88 car won't start

I purchased this car and it was not running. Car had been sitting for 1 yr. Fuel pump not working and gas was bad. Removed tank,hooked up external elect pump for fuel feed. We have spark from coils ,injectors have pulse spark everything seems good but won't start. Left car for the holiday and went to start it today,turned key started right up the died. Hooked up ext.pump to get fuel and will not start. PLEASE HELP

Hello,

If you are using a standard electric fuel pump on a fuel injected vehicle it is most likely not putting out enough pressure. Fuel injected vehicles need any where between 40 and 60 PSI depending on make and model. Most standard pumps only put out about 14 - 17 PSI.

If pump is putting out enough pressure then would check fuel pump pressure regulator.
