Electrical problem
1992 Oldsmobile 88 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 174kKm miles

Starts fine, runs ok except seems to stumble a bit and stalls occationally but quits after about 15Min of running. Then after sitting for a bit, starts again and the proccess starts again.

Odd behavour when started with lights and idiot lights.

Headlights well not dim. Security light comes on for a bit and goes off again (esp if brake pedel deptressed). Radio does not work. I am not sure the ABS is working but no warning light.

Car sat for some time. Do not know the history. Just bought it.

Hi:
I would start by checking fuel pump pressure and fuel pump. Many of the parts stores will lend or rent the needed gauge. Also, if you have never done it before, check out this video. It shows what to look for and how to do it.

Also, make sure the grounds are clean and tight. They may have gotten corroded sitting. Check the one on the engine block and look for body grounds that may be damaged.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
