My Dad gave me his 1989 Olds Delta 88. It is in great shape . Starts and runs good. BUT the car will just die, no warning. This happens at an idle or when car is being driven. We have replaced: Ignition module, temp sensor, crankshaft sensor, throttle sensor, H2 sensor, and mass air sensor, among other things. The gas pressure is good while running and at the time the engine shuts down. We are at at point we just don't know what to do. The check engine light is NOT on. Also after it dies if you disconnect the battery and then reconnect the car starts otherwise it won't...We also replaced the EGR. Any suggestions??

What fuel pressure are you getting? How did check it when it died?

35 to 40 lbs. We checked it with a fuel pressure gauge when it died while idling.

We called autozone and they said there is no MAP sensor on a 1989 Delta 88. Any other thoughts?
