Overfilled oil

Overfilled sump. Is it okay to drive?

How much did you overfill it by? A few ounces will be okay. Over by a quart, probably not a good idea.

I used to run into this with the earlier version of this car (Geo Metro) with the 1.3L. Those held a bit over 3.6 L (3.7 quarts). People would dump in four quarts. That extra amount of oil was enough to hit the crankshaft and cause problems.

It all depends on the amount it is over full.
