I have a Suzuki SX4. When I go to start it, there's absolutely nothing happening. The engine is quiet, almost like the starter isn't turning. I have to turn the key multiple times before the engine starts to turn over, or the starter finally kicks in. I have a feeling it's the starter because when I turn the key like I said nothing happens everything is dead. All the lights are coming on and everything is running, just nothing from the engine. Only other thing I can think of is the battery, because I had to get it recharged a few months ago, so I know it was low. I wouldn't think that a low battery because it is absolute dead silence from an engine instead of just a casual slow winding down of an engine of a low battery. And when the engine does start, but I'm turning the key, it sounds like it's puttering before I realize engine store running in the starter still turning, or the engine starts like normal.

Good call on the starter, I would also check the battery cable terminals to make sure they are clean and tight, let me know how it goes
