Recently changed out the steering column on the truck since the directional were old and needed replacing, truck was fine at this point. After the install, the truck would not start. If I pour fuel in the carburetor then it will start just fine but it will not idle down and just sputters out. If you pour the gas in the carburetor and start it and then apply the gas pedal and keep the engine revving up it will run just fine. It only stalls out if you don't hit the gas pedal, and it wont start without adding gasoline into the carburetor.

Maybe the vehicle needs a carb kit? All the carb specs for idle--choke--pull off, everything, should be in the carb kit instructions.

Do you have a vacuum pull--off on the carb? I haven't worked on a regular/non computer controlled carb, in a long--long time.
