Changed from points to HEI does not start has spark wondering if have problem with this swap over system

Should work I would think to check timing make sure you got it in right

Distributor never came out. Took points out mounted pick up inside dist. Then put magnet over shaft that opened and closed the points. Thought system was faulty so obtained replacement. I'm a 25 year dealership mechanic and now work on ups trucks. This add on stuff is new to me but I wondered how reliable swap this is. I am getting in the middle as my brother in law who began this passed away. CKD tdc 18436572 order n compression. I appreciate your response n it should start. Probably put points back in. Thanks for your time.

What kind of after market HEI system is it so I can do some research on it.
