After an extended drive above 65mph, the electrical instruments stop functioning though the car is unaffected in any other way.

You mean the guages stopped working? All of them or just the lights or what? Have you checked the fuses?

Speedometer and gauges only. Works fine after speed is reduced or car sits a few minutes. Fuses are fine.
