1988 Nissan Van Battery Instantly Draining

1988 Nissan Van 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual
I have a Nissan Vanette and I am having problems with the battery.I jump start it and drive it to charge the battery.When I try to start it again,the ignition comes on as normal and it seems the battery is fine, but once I turn the key to start I get a little clunk and the battery completly drains instantly. Any ideas?Would a short cause the battery to drain instantly like this?

Have the battery and alternator load tested we start here.
