1989 Nissan Truck problem I can't figure out

i have a 1989 nissan I bought and when I was goin down the road it just kinda sputtered and shut off. I checked the distributor and the plugs and everything to do with all the ignition. I checked to see if I was gettin fuel and its gettin what it needs. I got spark I got fuel and yet it doesnt even want to act like its turning over at all. Any info that I could get would be great cause im not the best mechanic in the world and I dont want to take anymore apart than I have to cause from what I found out about this engine its a japanese motor that was put in as a switch of motors before I bought the truck.
