1986 Nissan Truck wont start

Ok well, my truck was in exellent condition before this started. When I got it he guy told me sometimes it may not start if its not ALL the way in park. So a handful of times in six months this happened. I would just push the shifter up more and it'd start. Now the letter p and n don't show on the dash. It woun't start in n either. Sometimes it starts others it wouldn't, now nothing?

Key at start position switch check black and white for power if nothing check the inhibitor switch/park and neutral switch and ignition switch- see below
