1989 Nissan Skyline loss of oil fumes from exhaust pipe in
Engine Mechanical problem
1989 Nissan Skyline 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles
my 89 nissan skylime has done 145,000 ks on checking the oil it has suddenly gone.
I checked for leaks and found no major leak
I refilled the oil anf found that when the engine gets hot there is smoke coming from the exhuast pipe in the engine bay.
I removed the heta garde and again checked no sign of an oil leak. The water temp seems normal.
any ideas of oil loss or smell plus smoke and fumes from exhaust pipe are of engine bay?

Hi there,
You will need to do a compression and leak down test, this will give you a fairly good indication as to the condition of the lower end of the engine, the excessive smoke from the breather is engine blow by, this is from worn piston rings, start here.
