Oil consumption

I have a 1994 nissan sentra 124,000 and it is using a lot of oil. It is is not going on the ground. There is blue smoke coming out of the tailpipe. Is there an easy fix? The car seems to run fine. Also there is a hose coming from the transmition that doesn't seem to go to anything. Is that a vent?

the hose is probably a vent. the blue smoke you're indicating is that your car is burning oil. more than likely the piston rings are worn or the valve seals. the only way to fix the problem is rebuild the motor or replace it.

Hi there,

If you notice blue smote on start up, good chanch that the valve stems and or guides are worn, smoking all the time normally indicates worn or broken oil control rings, don't waste your money on fixes in a bottle, they don't work a re build or change over is your only option.
