I have a 01 nissan sentra, it has 140,000 miles and I am getting about 6 miles to the gallon. I have changed the oxegen sensor, and changed some fuses, and a tune up and this car still has terrible gas milage. The engien used to shake but the fuses fixed that problem, Iim on a tight budget and I cant keep taking the car to the shop. Please advise me on this subject. Thanks. :)

Do you smell gas anywhere? Is the engine light on?Because you could have a fuel line possibly leaking, or you might have a leaking injector. There are tests that can be done using a diagnostic scan tool, where you can pulse the injectors to see if any are leaking. Most repair shops have them, if you can't access one yourself. I hope I was helpful

Have the fuel pressure check, then proceed to check the initial ignition timing.

All of the injectors have been checked and cleaned and now my 02 sensor is popping up on the check engine light would that cause my gas milage to be so low? :|

Your O2 might be reading lean and the computer is throwing gas to it to compensate.

Have the OBD2 code pulled-as for the O2 it can cause your problem when on closed loop if its acting up-its job is to adjust the A/F mix. Try this clean out the throttle body, maybe the throttle plate is sticking-if not check the throttle position senso. The only way to catch the O2 is by the use of a scan tool.

There's a lot that can cause your problem, also it could be a MAF sensor or EGR. Check all these items I've mentioned.

Good Luck!

The scan tool read 02 sensor, I havent bought the part yet my car now after having the injectors cleaned and checked, gets about 220 miles to the tank which is better. Now when I drive the car it revs up but no power is there. It slowly speeds up and then the power kicks in, the engine still shakes then returns to a normal idle. This repeats itself constintly. Would that be an 02 sensor problem. :(

When do you shake? @ Stationary or while moving

Is it taking its sweet time to shift in gears? Like SW suspecting on the tranny

What did the scan tool says about theO2-Are they using a code reader or a scan tool-

What part that you haven't got yet

The shake do you feel it while at on a stop, then start shaking when moving.

The car shakes when driving and while its in park. The part I am gonna buy is the o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1. The car does take time to change gears, it sounds like the car is reving up then it goes. When in park the car shakes you can see the engine moving back and foward then it goes away then I say about ten seconds later it starts again, it does this all the time :(
