It turns out my relatively new car has a busted computer. I'm getting quoted $800 for a new computer plus labor in San Francisco. Sound right?

I'd love to save and get a used computer, but I'm not sure if this is safe?

Sounds right to me. To double check, call the dealership and ask for a price on the part.

I have had good luck with used computers. Especially because they dont often fail. Chances are you will get a good one used.
