I just took my car in for an oil change and they said my CV shafts need to be fixed. I took my car in about a year ago for a similar service and they said nothing about the CV shafts. I do not hear anything when I use my steering except a faint tapping sound. How urgent is it that I get my CV shafts replaced? How long does it take to get these shafts replaced usually?

Hi there'

I will take around 1 hr a side to replace the drive shafts, if they are faulty there will knock on lock while driving. The will be no sound while driving straight ahead, check the rubber boots if they are torn and leaking grease they should be look at, if they are still intact and there is no sign of grease leaking and there is no clicking on lock then they will be ok.
