Engine Performance problem
1997 Nissan Sentra 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 182.00 miles

When I am driving my car It only does it at 40 MPH. I do fine in the city its when I get on freeway. It acts like its not getting gas. But it never dies. What do you think could be wrong with it?

Lack of acceleration, chugging, hesitating, bogging etc. Could be caused by one of the following below.

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.
