My repair guy has done the following in an attempt to remediate this issue: a/c recharge and leak test; replace receiver drier and freon. Almost exactly a year ago, he did an a/c service. This included connecting a/c gauges; checking system pressures; checking compressor belt tension; checking operation of compressor, valves, fans and visual checking for freon leaks, along with replacing freon. He also replaced the filter drier at that time.

There is still an issue with blowing hot air and the car stalling when it's stopped at a red light and in drive or stalling when I come to an abrupt stop when the a/c is working.

Hi maineman,

When the engine rpm is too low, the AC will cut off thus no cooling.

Is the engine rpm at idling very low when the AC is turned on or when you rev the engine and let it idle?

If yes, then you need to look at the IAC or AC idle up boost control.

As the previous post says, sounds like an issue with the a/c idle boost circuit. Have him install the gauges again and let us know what the pressures are as far as the warm air goes. Does the comp turn on, just blows warm? might have too much in it, causing the comp to drag the engine down
