Can the voltage regulator be replaced on the alternator and if so, do I have toremove the alternator to get to it?

Hello,

You will have to remove the Alternator and take it apart to replace the Voltage Regulator.

However, you would save about $20 buying the Alternator. The price of the Regulator if you haven't check is around $180.

And I wouldn't get one from a junk yard. By the time you get one from a junk yard take the alternator off and take it apart replace the regulator put it back together put it back on and test it, just to find out it still doesn't work. Then have to remove the alternator again and put a new reman on. You will definitely save money if you just purchase an alternator.
