I am the wife who is trying to help my husband out who refuses to get any help from others. I watch him day in day out trying to figure out what is wrong with his nissan. I apologize for getting the engine size wrong when I said 6 cyl. Well I got the information from my husband who has no clue that I am asking for help him. The car is not turning over. He change everything from sparks to brake pads ext... Now he found one of the relays burnt out which was the color is blue with writing on it 4Q i can't remember the rest. The car was working all winter up until last week and it just wouldn't start. It sounded like it was not getting any gas to me, but I don't know about cars. That is why I am asking you guys for help for my bullheaded husband who is trying to make sense of all this by himself. Please help me !!!! : (

Have him check the battery and connections and also the starter could be slipping due to the overrunning clutch

He put in a new water pump, alternator ect.... now the car starts, but the alternator belt starts to smoke. Do you suggest anything else that might be wrong?

He said it is a brand new alternator and the belt on the pulley is loose. He also said something seems to be seizing up, because the belt starts to burn and he shuts the car off immediately.

He said the alternator is brand and the pulley is spinning. The belt that is smoking is the one that is around the alternator and the crankshaft.
