Do I need to take the whole engine down in order to replace the water pump?

Hello,

You will need to remove the timing cover in order to get to the rest of the water pump bolts. So, you will pretty much have to take the front of the motor off.

And I would Highly Recommend changing the Timing Components at the same time unless they have been done recently(20 - 30k miles).

I recommend it for the fact that you are already there and it is more cost effective to do both while there.
