how do you get the stater out of a 93 pathfinder without jacking the engine up

I'm pretty sure to get your starter out you can cut make two cuts on the inside of the wheel-well and bend up the metal, I did this on my old '88 pathfinder and it worked. I don't think they changed too much in five years.
