If it leaks then it should be replaced. See pics for instructions, install is reverse of removal. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I just got a quote from a mechanic that said $880.00 to replace a water pump that costs only 60 bucks. And a timing belt that I'm sure isn't too costly either. Everything says this is an easy fix if you have metric tools. Am I being ripped off?

The dealer I work for charges approximately 650 dollars. This fee includes water pump, timing belt, both cam seals, crank seal, timing belt tensioner pulley, drive belts and coolant. This fee includes all genuine Nissan components not those cheap aftermarket ones.

The estimate you are getting is exaggerated grossly.

Autozone. Com has free auto repair info. You'll have to register your vehicle, it is free. After you register, you can type water pump into their parts search box, the next page in the right hand column, should be info for the water pump.

You can also click on repair info, there will be several links.

I just replaced my radiator, but fluid is still leaking. The hoses seem to be fine. Could it be my water pump that is causing the problem?

Use additional lighting and mirrors if need be, there are a multitude of possiblilities, but you have to see where the coolant is coming out of. If you see but don't recognize the name of the leaking, part, post a pic and we can help. This may be as simple as a hose leak.
