My Pathfinder starts and drives fine in cooler temperatures, after I drive it for about 30 minutes it will shut off on its own. I move it to neutral start it and it starts fine, but then when I accelerate it freezes at about 2300 RPMs and starts jolting. I have to carefully watch my RPMs and keep it under 2300 and it will drive fine(granted I have to accelerate like an old man) but as soon as I hit 2300 it freezes and jolts fairly violently... Also when I start my car and it's 85 degrees or more it is very sluggish and smoke comes pouring out of my exhaust til I get it driving for about a minute. *Sigh* my car is jacked.

Hi BigSam82,

Thank you for the donation.

If you have not tried to retrieve any trouble codes, get it done, Autozone provides free scanning services. Let me know the exact trouble if any are found.

As problem is related to temperature, I would suggest checking the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor.

A description of the trouble code is non conclusive. I need to know the EXACT trouble code to understand if it is related to the problem.

I have emailed you the diagnostic files for P1446. Get it checkd and see if it helps to fix the problem.

When trouble codes are present, they shuld be rectified as they can cause the ECM to work differently.
