1996 Nissan Pathfinder 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 109k miles

My '96 Pathfinder LE 4x4 needs the front drive shaft greased. The coupler on the end of my grease gun seems too large to be a snug fit to the small grease nipple on the drive shaft. Are there different grease nipple sizes for different vehicle parts? I was under the impression that these are a standard size.

No, there are different sizes and styles. There are different attachments/adapters that can be used to adapter yours to it. You can also replace the fittings.

Generally most are the same but there are a few rebels to the group.

Problem is, all I have been able to find online is needle adapters and rubber adapters for my grease gun. No sign of any varying size adapters for different sizes of nipple. If you can suggest a link I'd appreciate it!

Turns out the issue was the difficulty in accessing the grease nipple. I obtained a flexible hose adapter for the gun and the fit was fine. The nipple "looks" small compared to the gun's fitting but it's the only one on the car so there's no basis for comparison.

Thank you for your responses!
