What will cause my nissan to be completely dead after 3 hours. I have a brand new battery. I drive it after I have jumped it off, come home and park it. And in 3 hours it is completely dead.

Can you help?

Thanks!

Hi there ,

There could be a blown diode in the alternator causing a current draw. Best get a current draw test done you remover the Pos terminal and connect an Amp meter between the battery post and the terminal, (don't try and start the engine) with key off and all doors closed there should be only about .25 Ams draw... if up around .75 or higher there is a circuit open and the best way to locate it is to pull the fuses one at a time till the current draw drops. this is the starting point as you then know which circuit is at fault.
