I A 98 NISSAN 200SX, I NEED TO KNOW WHERE THE STARTER AN THE STARTER SOLENOID IS. THE CAR WONT START. IT HAD PROBLEM STARTING IN THE RAIN SOMETHING GOT WET BUT IT WOULD START THE 2ND TIME YOU TRIED NOW IT WONT START AT ALL. IT IS MAKING A CLICKING SOUND. NOT SURE WEATHER TO CHANGE THE STARTER OR THE STARTER SOLENOID. CAN YOU GIVE ME A HAND THANKS

What you need to do is confrim that your battery is in good condition and cleaned /tightened properly then get back with me.

I am sorry I have already did this as well as tested the altinator check spark plugs, an disributor cap all is great

What Nissan model is this give me a description-Try jumping the starter at its solenoid and whether the starter will kick over

When you say won't start-does it mean it cranks over and w/n start or just won't crank over at all

I dont understand, how do I jump start the starter an will that fix the problem. With the car not starting at all. Or is jumping the starter suppose to tell me what the problem is. Where is the starter an the solenoid. I have tried looking up the diagram an I cant find one on this website or anyone else. Thanks

Let me ask again is it cranking over and refusing to start or won't do a thing when you turn key to start position and do you see all the idiot lites that normally comes on when key at run positon.

When I turn the key all the little dash board lights come on when you turn the key in the on postion. When you go to start the car. It makes a clicking sound. It is not trying to turn over just the clicking aound.

Here's your probable causes: Ignition switch, park and neutral switch, starter relay and starter itself-
