Engine Cooling problem

Hi recently I purchased a P reg nissan serena gx and found that the head was cracked and so on replacing it all and getting it up and running I am finding a problem with the cooling system, that being on filling the radiator up and running the engine I am finding that it sending some of the coolant back up into the top up bottle, and on removing the radiator cap you can see the coolant going around at what I would call a trickle and you can always see the top of the radiator.
