i have a 1990 nissan nx 1.4 auto, and it has recentley startd staying in second gear when it gets up to temprature any ideas??

When was the last fluid and filter change? could be a problem with a shifting solenoid. The computer uses the signal from the throttle position and vehicle speed sensors as throttle and governor pressures. and the coolant temperature sensor to control the overdrive-Could also be a problem within the valve body-

When all these sensors are operating properly -have the transmission pressure tested.
