Hesitation and jerk when reaccelerating

Engine Performance problem
2004 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 84000 miles

No engine codes, transmission professionally checked out OK. Still have a inconsistant engine hestitation (sometimes) occur when reaccelerating from letting off pedal and then resuming to accelerate. Does not occur from a stop. Engine seems to hesitate then jerk as it as if it is re engaging.
