I have a 1999 V6 Nissan Maxima SE Limited with approx 107k miles. My fan is not blowing even though the digital indiator shows the fan should be on full blast. I keep it on automatic climate control but have changed it to manual and adjusted the fan speed to see what happens and it makes no difference. The fan is not blowing. The hot/cold dash display indicator does show the thermostat is working properly as it moves up to normal after I let it warm up. What could be the problem(s) and what should I check next?

2/19/07 Update: I checked the fuses for the blower motor this weekend and they are not the problem.

2/23/07 Update: The mechanic I took it to diagnoses the problem as a "bad amplifier that powers the blower motor".

Disconnect the electrical connector that goes to the Blower motor(inside fan) with the fan switch on and see if you have power at the electrical connector. If you have power at that connector then you most likely have a bad blower motor. If you don't have power try a different fan position and recheck for power at the connector, if power is avalible in some positions but not on others then you probably have a bad blower resistor. If no power is found then check for a blown fuse or possibly a bad switch.
