Noises problem
1998 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 108K miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 98 Nissan Maximam, 108K miles. Last month I noticed a whirling sound coming from my front right wheel, particulary from 40-20 MPH. It got a bit louder after I had my front brake pads replaced. I took it three different garages and had three different diagnosis. One place told me that bearings had to be replaced without really looking at it. Second place told me my bearings were just fine and it was just the type of tires I had on. I didn't have noise to begin with so I wasn't quite conviced. The 3rd place told me that it looks like my front struts may need replacing soon and should just ignore the noise for now until it get worse. I tested the front struts afterwards myself. It bounces right back fine and the car is not even close to sinking so I feel all the diagnosis I received are off the mark. Through process of elmination, I am wondering now if my rotors had anything to do with it whirling or thumping noise? Thank you in advance for your expertise.
