my check engine light came on. i changed the oil drove it a liittle. a few hours later i started it and the check engine light came on. why? and how can i fix it?

The computer has stored an OBD2 code/s in its memory and needs to be scanned to retreive the code/s Autozone does it for free then comeback with it this is where we start the diagnosis.
