About 3 months ago, while driving my engine stalls and dies. During the stall, my steering wheel locks up and I don't have any breaks. I have to let the vehicle coast to the side of the road and at times I didn't make it, just stuck in the middle of the road. Very dangerous especially on the expressway. I had the car towed to my mechanic and he ran diagnostic on it and noted that my O2 sensor and knock sensor was having issues. He reset them on the computer and I was on my way. An hour later I was driving home and the engine dies again. I had it towed back to him and he took a look again, this time had him replace the O2 sensor and knock sensor, He also found a bad fuse. He replaced it and showed me which one was having issues. It turns out that it was the Engine Cont fuse 10A. A day later it occurs again and the fuse is blown. I went to Advanced Auto and picked up a box of 10A fuses. My mechanic tells me to take it to Nissan because this was not a mechanical error but an electrical issue. I take the vehicle to Nissan and they can't seem to find anything wrong with the car. I drive away thinking the problem had gone away. For 3 months of driving without any problems the fuse blows again. This time I was prepared. I swapped out fuses and the car started up. Brought the car back to Nissan who performed how many check point test and diagnostic. I stuck around this time making sure they were working on it. About 9 hours later they came back with a report showing nothing was wrong. Not confident with their work I went on a test drive with a tech in the car and it drove fine. Before I left my question to the tech was "Is it safe for me to drive home in the vehicle". He assured me yes and drove home. Pulling up to the house, the fuse blows and the engine dies. Tried to swap the fuse and start the car. No good, the fuse blows again. Thought maybe a bad fuse, so I swapped another one and then another one. Going through half the box I gave up. Had to push the car 20 feet uphill then I called Nissan to explain the situation. Will kindly make a donation if anyone can give me the right answers.

The Engine Cont is located in the fuse panel below the dash and left of the steering wheel. 10A fuse #17.

O.K. That fuse powers up a lot of stuff. Lest go with the most likely culprit the fuel pump. Take off left kick panel find fuel pump relay has four wires to it. Unplug replace fuse turn key on does it blow? If not then pump has short.

Had the car towed to them because I couldn't get it started. They ran another computer diagnostic and found nothing wrong. The tech was able to get the car started and I gave permission to the tech to drive it home and test it in a realistic scenario and the car died out on him. I will suggest your idea to him.
