Electrical problem
1996 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 103K miles
I recently got my battery fixed. They tested my alternator and said everything is fine. Now I am having problems. It is as though the car can not keep a charge. After about 5 minutes of driving, maybe more, I notice the digital clock starting to fade, then the dashboard lights fade, followed by the headlights. My radio stops working, then I notice the Airbag light goes on. I will stop the car, let is sit 5 minutes, and it restarts no problem - like new. My guess I need a new altenator, but I wanted to prepare myself ($-wise), if it could be more. I briefly looked at the fuse box and did not notice anything odd, but remember I am not an expert. I have also tried no air, lights (during the day), no radio, just the car running and it still happens. I can not tell you if it happens soon or later.
